Brighton postcards are always popular with collectors. Brighton is a seaside resort located on the South coast of the UK. It is 47 miles south of London in the county of East Sussex. Over time, Brighton became popular as a place to visit for sea bathing which was reported to help cure illness. During the Georgian times, Brighton became well known as a seaside holiday resort thanks to the visits of King George IV who constructed the Royal Pavilion.
The arrival of the railways brought day trippers visiting from London and during the Victorian era, many of Brighton's major attractions were constructed. These included the Grand Hotel, the Palace Pier and also the West Pier. Not forgetting the Hilton Brighton Metropole. Brighton is a popular destination for foreign visitors and is also known as the unofficial gay capital of the UK due to it's large LGBT population.
Brighton is considered a hip place to visit and enjoys continued status as a tourist resort due to its location.
