Old Buxton Postcards

Buxton in Derbyshire is well known for the spa water that rises naturally from a geothermal underground spring. The water always rises at 28 °C and is popular with tourists visiting the town, many taking a drink from St Ann's Well. Buxton water is also marketed extensively. The spa water was thought to have healing properties and during Victorian times, the town was very popular.

The town has some great architecture and history. The Old Hall Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in town. Other prominent architecture includes The Crescent (Currently being renovated 2017) and the Opera House, built in 1903. The Opera House is still a popular venue for many big names and attracts great crowds. The Pavilion Gardens is another beautiful aspect to the town and provides a most enjoyable stroll before a show at the Opera House. Buxton Festival is a popular attraction and brings many tourists to the town.
